Windermere convention centre plans passed
Plans to build a £4m convention centre on the banks of Windermere have been passed.
It has been described as being a 'world class visitor destination' that would host concerts exhibitions, dinners and product launches. It would create 35 new jobs.
The build will be subject to certain conditions.
It will be the largest of its kind and would be next to the A591, opposite the Low Wood Hotel.
Opponents to the plans are concerned about the increase in traffic and the effect the development could have to the lake shore.
