Lothian and Borders Police Excellence awards
Several police officers in the Borders have received awards for the services they've provided to the community. The G Division, which has its headquarters in Hawick, has been recognised at the Lothian and Borders Police Excellence Awards.
The officers involved took away 4 awards. The projects including a cold-calling prevention scheme in Berwickshire and youth work in Selkirk.

There were also awards for voluntary groups who help the police. Stuart Fuller-Shapcott is the Deputy Team leader for Borders Search and Rescue Unit. He explained how delighted they are with the award and explained some of the call outs they've had.
Special Constable Alistair Cameron won the force Excellence Award and overall Valued Service category. He has 14 years service and during his career with the police has received a Chief Constable's Commendation for chasing and detaining a robbery suspect while he was off duty.
