Campaign to bring railway station back to Beattock

A campaign to bring a railway station back to Beattock in Dumfries and Galloway has been launched. It was closed 40 years ago as part of the electrification of the west coast mainline.

Martin Brown is the Chairman of the community council in Beattock he explained why it's important the station is re instated.

A steering group has been formed to try and tap into £30m of Scottish Government funding to get the scheme underway. Martin explains the process and that it's not the first time they have gone through this process.
