Listed buildings tax

There are concerns for the future of listed churches and other buildings as all restoration and refurbishment works become subject to VAT.

Previously only repair work was subject to the tax.

The Carlisle Diocese has joined a national campaign asking for the government to rethink the plans which come into effect in October.
