Panda lambs bred in Borders

A farmer in the Scottish Borders has bred lambs to look like pandas. The breed of the parents is being kept a secret.

Farmer Jill Noble decided to breed the look-a-likes after the arrival of two pandas at Edinburgh Zoo.

The first born panda lamb Tian Tian - who is named after one of the pandas - was born on April Fools Day. Jill says "2011 was the year of the panda and there was a lot of hype about the pandas coming to Edinburgh Zoo. It was a fun idea and the sheep certainly showed the pandas a thing or two about producing babies. Being female they can go on to be breeding ewes and it will be very interesting to see how their offspring turn out."
