Railway link debated in Holyrood
Reston Community Council's Barrie Forrest has been leading the campaign to get a railway station opened at Reston to link the area with Edinburgh. It would cost about £2 and a quater million pounds. He says they can spend £300 million restoring the Waverely Line but that gives no benefit to Berwickshire.
The station at Reston closed in the 1960s. Campaigners sat it is vital for the future of local communities to stop the drain of young people looking for work and going on to higher education.
