Recall petition result: Fiona Onasanya no longer Peterborough's MP

Peterborough's MP Fiona Onasanya has been stripped of her position in the House of Commons after 27% of her constituents decided they no longer wanted her representing them.

A recall petition has been running in the town, with signing stations closed earlier this evening.

It follows her conviction for perverting the course of justice after she lied about a speeding offence.

Ten per cent of eligible voters needed to sign the petition for it to force a by-election.
