Labour have strengthened their grip on Ipswich Borough Council with their overall majority increasing to 20.
Labour gained an additional seat from the Conservatives.
Labour won back an overall majority in Ipswich in 2011 after the council was hung for seven years. The Tories last had a majority on Ipswich Council in 1979.
Labour's Sandy Martin won the Ipswich parliamentary seat from the Conservative Ben Gummer in the 2017 General Election.
Early turnout figures in the council elections in the Anglia region suggest only a third of voters bothered to cast their ballot.
All the political parties will be weighing up gains and losses in local elections across the Anglia region.
Counting will start at 10pm across the Anglia region in the local council election with results coming through in the early hours of Friday.
