Local Elections 2018 in the Anglia region
There were local elections for more than 400 councillors on 22 councils in the Anglia region on Thursday 3 May 2018.

Colchester Borough Council remains with no party in overall control.
The Conservatives did however gain two seats while the Liberal Democrats lost two including that of the council leader Paul Smith.
The council has been effectively hung since 1998 when the Liberal Democrats were last in power.
It is likely that the council will continue to be run by an alliance of Lib Dems, Labour and Independent councillors despite the Conservatives being the biggest party. They are one seat short of an overall majority.
Early turnout figures in the council elections in the Anglia region suggest only a third of voters bothered to cast their ballot.
All the political parties will be weighing up gains and losses in local elections across the Anglia region.
Counting will start at 10pm across the Anglia region in the local council election with results coming through in the early hours of Friday.
