The business of Milton Keynes as town's 50th birthday approaches

Milton Keynes is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its creation as a New Town.

Fifty years ago Milton Keynes was little more than a tiny Buckinghamshire village now it's a thriving conurbation that wants to be officially named a city.

It was the first of a new generation of New Towns originally built to relieve a housing shortage in London back in 1967.

Today many companies have put down roots in the town over the years .
