Norfolk writer's manuscript found in attic by son

Video report by ITV Anglia's Natalie Gray.

The writer Cressida Lindsay was a colourful bohemian character who moved from Notting Hill to Norfolk and set up an artists' commune at Scoulton Old Rectory near Watton.

Cressida's son, Dylan Hyatt, found one of her unpublished books, The Mole In the Mountain, hidden in an attic a few months ago. The last seven pages were missing so Dylan has now re-written the end and has had it published. It was originally written by Cressida in 1969/1970.

"So i just followed through what was in the original story that we knew from the publisher and wove in some of her sentences from the other notebook she had accompanying the manuscript.

"The book is about a family in Norfolk, near the broads, Vera has got a lot on her plate, three children, Margaret, her eldest daughter has just turned 16, is very strong willed, drops out of school then she starts seeing a man in the village with a seemingly bad reputation and the two are at each other's throats."
