Rare Roman coins stolen from museum

Police would like to hear from anyone who is offered the chance to buy rare coins which were stolen from Chelmsford Museum on January 4.

The 14 gold Roman coins were displayed in a wall-mounted cabinet which was removed at around 9 o'clock in the morning. They are believed to be worth a substantial amount of money and have yet to be recovered.

A 30-year-old man from Chelmsford has been arrested in connection with the theft and has been bailed to February 21, pending further enquiries.
