A winding up petition on Northampton Town FC by HMRC has officially been withdrawn after a court hearing last Monday.
All the club's debts have also been paid.
New chairman Kelvin Thomas has said it will give the team a chance to focus on the FA Cup.
"This is a very positive step as we move forward. We can now focus on our review of the club and developing the future plans.
"We really enjoyed our first game in the win against Yeovil last weekend and the welcome we received from the fans was really special.
"Now it's time for the FA Cup. The players have given themselves a wonderful chance of getting into the 3rd Round and it's a great time to get behind them.”
After weeks of takeover talks, this afternoon former Oxford United Chairman completed his takeover of the Cobblers.
A deal has been struck to save Northampton Town Football Club from an administration and winding-up petition.
Northampton Town manager Chris Wilder has pleaded with the club's current chairman to sell to former Oxford United owner Kelvin Thomas.
