Former Swindon Town chairman Jed McCrory is reportedly in talks with Northampton Town about buying the club.
Ex Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas had looked to be the favourite to complete a takeover, but yesterday he cast doubt that a deal could be done.
A consortium led by McCrory saved Swindon from administration in 2013 before former Norwich City striker Lee Power took control just a few months later.
