King's Lynn Stars speedway rider Lewis Kerr is now out of an induced coma, his wife has confirmed.
The 25-year-old from Norfolk was riding for the Newcastle Diamonds at a meeting in Peterborough when he was involved in a serious crash.
He suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge where doctors put him into a coma.
His wife Jessie has now revealed that he is breathing unaided, but is still in critical care.
Meanwhile, a fund which has been set up to support Lewis and his family has already raised over £5,000.
