A resounding no vote that means people in Bedfordshire will not be paying extra council tax to put more officers on the beat.
The county was the only one in the country to stage a referendum on the issue. Voters rejected the proposal to raise an extra four and a half million pounds but that's left Bedfordshire Police with some big problems.
