Norwich death 'not linked to Superman ecstasy pills'

Officers say they do not believe the death of a man in Norwich is linked to a so-called "Superman" ecstasy pill.

Police were called to a property in Norfolk Street twice yesterday morning after two men became ill.

One of the men later died while the second remains in a critical condition in Hospital.

Three men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences. The woman was later taken to hospital as a precaution after she also became unwell. She is in a stable condition.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation however initial enquiries suggest this incident could be linked to the use of illegal substances.

"While we're not in a position to comment on the type of drugs involved, there is no evidence at this stage to suggest the case is linked to recent deaths in Suffolk involving the 'Superman' ecstasy pills."

– Det Ch Insp Andy Ninham, Norfolk Police.
