A man jailed for helping the serial killer Joanna Dennehy in a murder spree which left three men dead, has had a bid to cut his sentence rejected. Gary Stretch, from Peterborough, was jailed for life with a minimum of 19 years in February.

One of the accomplices of serial killer Joanna Dennehy is to appeal against the length of his sentence.

Gary Stretch, thought to be Britain's tallest serving prisoner at 7ft 3ins, was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 19 years.

Stretch, 47, from Orton Goldhay, Peterborough was found guilty of the attempted murder of Robin Bereza and John Rogers after helping Joanna Dennehy select her victims in Hereford.

He was also convicted of three counts of preventing the lawful burial of a body at the trial at Cambridge Crown Court.

Dennehy murdered Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, Kevin Lee, 48, and John Chapman, 56, in March 2013 before dumping their bodies in ditches near Peterborough.
