A young woman is seriously ill in hospital after getting into difficulty late yesterday afternoon in the Blue Lagoon in Bletchley near Milton Keynes.
The woman, who's in her 20s, went into the water to help a child.
Four people have died in the region's open water in the past week.
The authorities are urging people to stay away from open water and stick to swimming pools.
