A fifth person has died in our region's lakes and rivers after police confirmed that a woman who got into difficulty at the Blue Lagoon Nature Reserve near Milton Keynes has passed away.
Man dies in apparent canoeing accident
A man has died in an apparent canoeing accident in Northamptonshire.
Police were called to the lake at Sixfields in Northampton at around 4pm yesterday after reports of an overturned canoe.
The body of a 57-year-old man was recovered from the lake just before 5pm, along with a canoe.
The man’s death is not being treated a suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
It comes just two days after the deaths of two boys in separate swimming incidents in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
