Essex Police say they're continuing to search for a murder weapon near Salary Brook Trail in Colchester where Nahid Almanea was found murdered on Tuesday June 17. They have yet to recover any knife or bladed weapon with a proven link to the killing.
One of the three fishing lakes nearby has been drained and specialist officers are searching the area. The other two lakes will also be drained.
Police are urging people in Colchester to check their gardens, hedges, rubbish bins, and communal areas around flats for any trace of any discarded weapons or blood stained clothing or footwear.
