Storm hits Christmas plans in the Anglia region
Travellers are being warned of travel disruption over the Christmas period following heavy rain and strong winds.
Power cut update: 3,600 homes still off in the East
UK Power Networks says it hopes to restore power to all homes in the East of England by the end of Christmas Eve following the strong winds.
At the peak of the storm 300,000 properties had their electricity cut in the East and South East.
There are still 3,600 without power in the Anglia region mostly in Essex and Norfolk.
This is the county-by-county list of power cuts at 4pm:
- 114 in Bedfordshire
- 55 in Buckinghamshire
- 68 in Cambridgeshire
- 1,256 in Essex
- 585 in Hertfordshire
- 1,050 in Norfolk
- 542 in Suffolk
