Plans to turn a dual carriageway that runs through the city centre into a pedestrian and cyclist friendly tree-lined boulevard have been unveiled by Peterborough City Council today.
An artist's impression of plans for pedestrianising part of Peterborough city centre appears to include an image of four-times World Time Trial champion cyclist Fabian Cancellara.
The image has been released by the council to show how the £6 million "cyclist friendly tree-lined boulevard" would look. Work is due to start in March 2014.
And it features a cyclist bearing a striking resemblance to 32 year old Cancellara on his time trial bike.
Cancellara is Swiss and has won his country's National Time Trial Championships title eight times.
