Ruddy denied England start

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has missed out on a first England start after Roy Hodgson named Celtic's Fraser Forster in goal for tonight's televised clash with Chile.

The Canaries stopper had been hoping to be given the nod after Hodgson announced yesterday that regular no.1 Joe Hart wouldn't start the game.

However, Ruddy could still appear from the substitutes' bench with Hodgson refusing to rule out giving run-outs to both Ruddy and Forster.
