Flood alerts are in place along the East coast as high winds and heavy rain continue to batter the region.
Some residents in the Norfolk coastal village of Walcott were this morning forced to evacuate their homes after the Environment Agency issued a flood warning.
A similar tidal surge has been forecast at Maldon in Essex for later this afternoon.
