More than 100 arrests at V Festival

More than 100 people were arrested over the weekend at the V Festival in Chelmsford.

Essex Police said it had made 114 arrests, including 22 for drug dealing.

There were 75 arrests for drug possession, six for assaults, one for disqualified driving, two for theft, two for rowdy and disorderly behaviour, three for fraud and three for drink-driving.

Chief Supt Andy Prophet said all the officers had done "a great job" to make the event safe.

He added: "The work of our drugs dogs in sniffing out those in supplying drugs has been a key element in our tactics this year and its one that has worked really well.”
