The small Norwich beer-maker Redwell says it is hopeful of reaching agreement with the multi-national drinks company Red Bull in a dispute over its name.

Red Bull wrote to Redwell Brewing demanding a change in name because it was too similar and might confuse consumers.

The Norfolk brewery, which is named after a street in Norwich, has now confirmed that it is in talks with Red Bull and is hopeful of keeping its name.

Red Bull said in a statement: "Red Bull has long been willing to allow Redwell to maintain its mark for beer so long as they do not use it for energy drinks."
