Anniversary of the 1845 Suspension Bridge Disaster

Lanterns will be lit in Great Yarmouth this evening to mark the anniversary of a bridge collapse 168 years ago.

More than 80 people were killed when the suspension bridge over the River Yare gave way in 1845.
