A policeman has been shot dead in Clacton-on-Sea after apparently intervening in a row between neighbours. The man police were hunting has been found dead in Writtle.
Inquest opens into death of murdered Essex policeman
An inquest into the deaths of murdered Essex policeman Ian Dibell and the man believed to have shot him was opened and adjourned today.
Pc Dibell, who was 41, died after being shot while trying to intervene in a dispute near his home in Clacton on Monday.
Police launched a manhunt for sixty four year old Peter Reeve who was found lying dead in a churchyard at Writtle near Chelmsford the following morning.
