Campaign group Stop Sizewell claimed the Office for Nuclear Regulation failed to include sea defences in its considerations when issuing a nuclear site licence.

Energy unions Prospect and the GMB have written to Sir Keir Starmer urging him to give the project the green light ahead of the government's investment summit.

The government has announced a subsidy scheme worth up to £5.5bn "to ensure the project has access to the necessary financial support to remain on track".
