Norwich City leave it late to sign Wildschut from Wigan

Norwich City have completed the signing of Dutch winger Yanic Wildschut from fellow Championship side Wigan Athletic for an undisclosed fee.

The deal for the 25-year-old was announced just a minute before the 11pm deadline, with the fee believed to be in the region of £7 million.

Derby County were also interested in signing the former Middlesbrough man but the Canaries won the race for his signature.

Wildschut, who recently scored twice for Wigan against Norwich's rivals Ipswich Town, has agreed a two-and-a-half year deal with an option a further year at Carrow Road.

Yanic will bring pace and directness, and he's the type of lad that on his day, he can create absolute havoc.

He's still learning the game, he's still got improvements to make but when he's on form he's a really top operator at this level.

There was stiff competition for him, we had to make sure we put a good deal in place - however, with us losing two left-siders, it was important that we brought two in and we've done that.

Wildschut is the second Dutchman to sign for Norwich today, with Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks also joining on loan.

Southend United also completed some late business, bringing in Lincoln City striker Theo Robinson.

The 28-year-old is no stranger to Roots Hall, having spent time on loan at the club eight years ago.

Robinson has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract with the Shrimpers.

MK Dons strike loan deal for Cardiff's O'Keefe

MK Dons have brought in Cardiff City midfielder Stuart O'Keefe on loan.

The 25-year-old will remain with the Dons for the rest of the season.

O’Keefe started his career at Southend United and played in the Premier League for Crystal Palace.

I’m delighted to get Stuart in. He’ll bring energy to the team and good experience for someone still relatively young.

He’s played at a higher level and will certainly bolster our options in the middle of the park.

In League Two, young Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Macey has moved to Luton Town on loan.

Ipswich Town seal late deal for midfielder Huws

Ipswich Town have beaten the deadline to sign Cardiff City midfielder Emyr Huws on loan until the end of the season.

The Welsh international is the second arrival of the day following the loan capture of Reading striker Dominic Samuel.

23-year-old Huws started his career at Manchester City before he was sold to Wigan Athletic in 2014.

He joined Cardiff in the summer but has failed to make an impact in his homeland.

The move to Ipswich was confirmed following their 3-0 defeat to Derby County in The Championship tonight.

Manager Mick McCarthy also admitted after the final whistle that Nottingham Forest failed in a bid to sign Ipswich captain Luke Chambers today.

Ipswich Town have completed the loan signing of powerful Reading striker Dominic Samuel.

The 22-year-old will spend the rest of the season at Portman Road after the Blues beat a number of other clubs to land him.

Samuel was on loan at neighbours Colchester in 2013, and has also had temporary spells at Gillingham and Coventry City.

He is Ipswich's sixth signing of the transfer window.

In League One, Portsmouth striker Michael Smith has joined Northampton Town on loan for the rest of the season but winger Alfie Potter has been allowed to leave.

Norwich City's Brady joins Burnley in club record deal

Norwich City winger Robbie Brady has joined Premier League side Burnley for a club record fee.

The exact terms of the fee haven't been disclosed, but it's believed to be in the region of £13 million.

The Republic of Ireland international has agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract at Turf Moor, with a further year’s option.

Brady joined the Canaries in the summer of 2015 and made more than 60 appearances for the club.

Norwich City pull off 'coup' to sign Dijks on loan

Ajax left-back Mitchell Dijks has performed a U-turn to sign for Norwich City on loan, just a few days after rejecting a permanent move to The Championship club.

The Canaries had agreed a €4 million fee with the Dutch giants, but Dijks decided to turn the offer down.

However, the 23-year-old has now had a change of heart to sign for Norwich on loan until the end of the season.

The deal also includes the option for Alex Neil's side to buy him in the summer.

This is one where we've had to work hard to get it over the line but for us it's a bit of a coup.

He's played Champions League football and he's really highly thought of. He wasn't playing this season at Ajax, and that gave us an opportunity.

He'll bring size and stature; he's six feet four inches tall, strong and athletic. I think all of those qualities are certainly things that will add to the squad.

Grant becomes second Peterborough United signing

Port Vale midfielder Anthony Grant has joined Peterborough United for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old, who has also played for Southend United and Stevenage earlier in his career, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal.

Despite chairman Darragh MacAnthony promising a "quiet day", Grant is the second new arrival following Craig Mackail-Smith's loan move.

He is a really difficult opponent. He has been captain at Port Vale, he is a leader on and off the pitch and I think he will bring a lot to the dressing room.

He has an excellent passing range, he dictates games and he will help us moving forward.

Norwich City winger Canós moves back to Brentford

Norwich City have sold winger Sergi Canós to Brentford.

The 19-year-old only joined the Canaries in the summer from Liverpool but has found himself out of favour ever since.

He has now agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Brentford who have paid their Championship rivals an undisclosed fee.

Canós enjoyed a productive spell with the Bees on loan last season, scoring seven goals.

Sergi's development hasn't continued as much as he'd have liked here because of the emergence of Jacob Murphy, who's been excellent for us so far this season.

I think for Sergi there was a lot of frustration on his part, which you can understand. For him to develop, he needs to play games and we've got a good deal for both parties.

Canós is the second departure of the day from Carrow Road so far, with striker Carlton Morris having joined Rotherham United on loan this afternoon.
