Police confirm Breydon Water deaths not suspicious
The bodies of a man and a woman in their 60s, discovered at Breydon Water in Great Yarmouth are not being treated as suspicious.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 11.20am yesterday after a member of the public reported seeing two bodies on the mudbank.
Officers say the couple are from the local area and are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
A file will be prepared for the Her Majesty’s coroner in due course and enquiries to trace next-of-kin are continuing.

Two bodies have been found washed up on a mudbank at a Norfolk estuary.
The bodies were spotted today by a member of the public at Breydon water near Great Yarmouth.
Our reporter Tanya Mercer is at the scene and has sent us this report.
Bodies of man and woman recovered at Breydon Water
The bodies of a man and woman have been recovered from Breydon Water, in Great Yarmouth, this afternoon.
Police were called to the scene shortly after 11.20am after a member of the public reported seeing two bodies on the mudbank.
The bodies of the man and woman, believed to be aged between 40 and 50 years old, were recovered with assistance from colleagues at the Coastguard and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Detective Inspector Chris Burgess, who is overseeing the enquiry, said: "It has taken some time for officers to recover the bodies due to where they were discovered.
"The deaths are currently being treated as unexplained. We are in the early stages of the enquiry and it would be inappropriate to speculate any further.”
Post mortem examinations will be held in due course to establish the cause of death.

At this stage it is not known how the pair died. Police say it could take two to three hours to recover the bodies.
