Fire in old station causes travel chaos for passengers

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a disused railway station in Suffolk which has forced the cancellation of trains between Ipswich and Cambridge.

Crews were called to the station at Higham near Bury St Edmunds at about 6am and will remain at the scene until the afternoon.

Greater Anglia is advising passengers to take alternative routes.

It says the fire is out but structural engineers will need to check before trains can run past the site as it is very close to the railway line.
