Chelsea starlet signs on-loan with Norwich City

Bamford, 22, spent the first half of the season on loan at Crystal Palace but it ended in controversy when he said his spell there had been "terrible".

Last season he was named as the Sky Bet Championship's Player of the Year after scoring 17 times in 38 league matches for Middlesbrough. He faced his new side in last season's Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Speaking to canaries.co.uk about his latest loan move, Bamford said:

"I'm really happy to be here, and the sooner I'm able to get involved the better. That's what I want to do personally, but it's also about helping Norwich to get the points required to stay in the league."

Norwich City striker Jamar Loza has joined Southend United on loan until the end of the season.

Loza is no stranger to Roots Hall, having also spent time on loan there in 2014.

The deal includes the option for a permanent move in the summer.

"I've worked with Jamar before, he's a likeable guy. He comes in with a smile on his face, trains with a smile on his face and plays with a smile on his face.

He knows us well, we know him well, we know he's got pace and a eye for goal. He leads the line, he's gets in behind, and he's a threat with his goal prowess.

We thought it was a no brainer to bring in Jamar until the end of the season, it provides us an opportunity to know and understand the player even more whilst forming a basis for continuity once the loan period comes to an end with a view to a permanent deal at the end of it."

“George has put in some fantastic performances for Oxford. He has gained a lot of credibility for those displays and the way he’s conducted himself with them.

Michael Appleton and his coaching staff have aided the development of George, who has been through a real transition over the last 18 months. He’s found a defined role and now his aim is to come back here and force his way into the team.

We want every player we feel can influence us during the run-in, here at stadium:mk. He’s one of our own and I know he will dedicate everything he’s got to helping us over these important months.”

"I'm really pleased to bring Luke in.

I have been an admirer of his for a while and this is another signing that will strengthen us at a key time in the season.

As James Collins did, Luke also won promotion from this level last season, and that knowledge and experience can only help us.

We have a really hectic schedule coming up, and to be able to add Luke's ability, knowhow and experience to the squad is a big boost and a huge help to the players who are already here and have done so well to get us to the position we are in."

MK Dons have signed Crystal Palace midfielder Jonny Williams on a 93-day emergency loan.

Welsh international Williams has been on loan at Nottingham Forest this season, and has also played for Ipswich Town.

“Jonny is someone who I’ve always liked from a young age. He really suits our style – he’s a very offensive player and can play in a variety of positions.

He’s also got an unpredictability about him and a low centre of gravity which gives him that ability to drive past people. He had a massive impact on helping Palace get promoted from this division – I’m really excited about what he can bring.

We'd have loved to have done this deal until the end of the season but as he's played for Crystal Palace and already been out on a standard loan this season, a 93-day loan is the longest we can acquire his services for."

– Karl Robinson, MK Dons Manager

"I’d like to thank Ipswich Town for their co-operation over ending my contract.

It’s a great club and the manager, staff and players made me feel very welcome but while I have enjoyed playing for Ipswich, I have found it difficult to settle into life in England.

I have been away from home for five or six years now. My family came over at Christmas and maybe I’ve got to a point where I want to be closer to home again.

It’s just one of those things where moving over here as not worked out as I had hoped but I’d like to wish the club, the manager, the staff and the players the best of luck over the rest of the season and I hope to be watching Ipswich in the Premier League next year.”
