Visitors spotted plenty of famous historical figures at the eighth annual Village at War weekend.

Re-enactors from all over the country came to the village to help bring wartime Britain to life at the canal village Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire.

The event is organised by the Friends of the Canal Museum and local villagers.

Stoke Bruerne in Northamptonshire is hosting its eighth annual Village at War Weekend.

Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event which is running all this weekend. It's organised by Friends of the Canal Museum and local villagers.

The event features an aerial flypast on each day, including a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Mock air raids and living history groups and re-enactors will help bring wartime Britain to life. Tanks and military vehicles are on display, and the local Northampton Home Guard and Army Cadet Force will be on parade.

Wartime foods are on sale, with tea sold in the village school, and the church will be the venue for a fashion parade.
