Police say that more motorists will be prosecuted for filming or taking photos of a crash on their mobile phones in Cambridgeshire last month.

At least 15 drivers were initially caught photographing the aftermath of the crash which involved a lorry carrying teddy bears on the A14.

Police have confirmed that number has now jumped to 24.

It happened on May 28 at Girton after four HGVs collided.

No-one was seriously injured but a 16 mile stretch of the A14 between junctions 31 and 36 was closed for several hours causing huge tailbacks.

Work to recover four lorries after an accident this morning on the A14 at Girton near Cambridge, has begun.

The A14 has been closed between J31 and J36 near Newmarket, to allow for a diversion. It's meant a sixteen mile stretch of the road had to be closed off, trapping some traffic.

Work to recover the four lorries has now begun, but the road is expected to remain closed westbound until around 1pm say police.

Several miles of queuing traffic has been trapped on the A14 after an accident between four lorries has meant the road has had to be closed off.

The accident between four lorries happened westbound at 5.45am at the Girton Interchange.

The road closure is around 16 miles from close to Newmarket at J36 to Girton at Junction 31, to allow traffic to divert via the A11, A505 and M11.

Recovery of the lorries is not expected until after 9am.

There are long delays on the A14 in Cambridgeshire after an accident between four lorries has blocked the road westbound at Girton.

It happened at 5.45 am this morning and the road has been closed between J36 and J31 the M11 turn off.

Traffic has been diverted via the A11 to the A505 and the A505 westbound to the M11 and the M11 northbound to rejoin the A14 at Girton.
