Inquest into pilot killed in mid-air collision
An inquest has been held into the death of a pilot following a mid-air collision in Bedfordshire. Stephen Spavins, who was 46, commuting to work in a Denny Kitfox plane when the crash happened.

Tributes have been paid to the pilot who died when his plane came down in Bedfordshire after a mid-air crash with another plane.
46-year-old Stephen Spavins has been described as a family man who just loved to fly. Stephen regularly flew from his home in Spalding in Lincolnshire to work in Sandy. But yesterday that routine flight ended in tragedy.

Police name pilot who was killed in Bedfordshire plane crash
Police have named a pilot who was killed when his light aircraft collided with another plane over the Bedfordshire countryside yesterday.
46-year-old Stephen Spavins from Spalding lost his life when his single seater came down in a field near Tempsford on the Cambridgeshire-Bedfordshire border.
It followed a mid-air collision with another single seater which was able to land safety.
The Air Accident Investigation Board is continuing to investigate.

Air accident investigators are still at the scene near the village of Tempsford on the Bedfordshire Cambridgeshire border.
The other aircraft was able land safely at Thurleigh airfield.

A plane has crash landed in Bedfordshire following a mid-air collision between two light aircraft.
One of the planes crashed into a field near to Tempsford, on the border with Cambridgeshire.
The incident happened at around 8:30 this morning.
The other aircraft was able land safely at Thurleigh airfield.
Emergency services are on the scene and the Air Accident Investigation Branch has been notified. The nearby roads are currently closed to traffic.
Light aircraft crashes in Bedfordshire
A light aircraft has crashed in a field in Bedfordshire after a mid-air collision.
Emergency services have been called to the scene near Little Barford, close to the border with Cambridgeshire.
Police were called at 8.30am on Tuesday morning, when there was a mid-air collision between two light aircraft. Both are thought to be single-seaters.
One of the aircraft was able to carry on flying and land safely at Thurleigh airfield, but the other has crashed.
The Air Accident Investigation Board has been notified.
The Barford Road is currently closed to traffic, it is not yet known if anyone has been injured.
