Luton Town have signed Aston Villa defender Lewis Kinsella on loan for the rest of the season.

The 20-year-old left-back has featured in recent Villa squads, and played a part in the FA Cup win over West Brom.

“We are very lucky to have a player of Lewis’ calibre – it speaks volumes that he has been on Villa’s bench for their last two Premier League games.

With Scott unavailable and needing an operation we are light of players in that area, and with that in mind, we’re delighted to be able to do a deal to bring Lewis to Luton Town."

Meanwhile, Luton duo Ross Lafayette and Ian Rees have joined Welling United and Hitchin Town respectively on loan.

Meanwhile, left-back Fryers has also joined.

The 22-year-old was seen as a big prospect at Manchester United, before he agreed a controversial move to Tottenham Hotspur.

However, he failed to make the grade at White Hart Lane and moved to Palace last summer.

In terms of outgoings, Ipswich striker Paul Taylor has joined Blackburn Rovers on loan until the end of the season.

West Brom midfielder Graham Dorrans has extended his loan deal with Norwich City until May 25.

The 27-year-old has been at Carrow Road since February, after seeing a permanent move break down in January.

Dorrans will now be able to feature in the play-offs, should Norwich require them.

“I’m really pleased we’ve got Graham on board to the end of the season. When he first came here he needed some match time, but he’s got better game-by-game.

As a player, he’s got a football brain, he can get about the pitch, he’s physically strong and he can carry out a variety of roles within the team. He’s very versatile, which is ideal for a manager.

Between now and the end of the season, his progress in terms of his dominance in games will only continue.”

Norwich City have missed out on the loan signing of Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom, with the forward joining Nottingham Forest instead.

The Canaries had been heavily linked with a move for the England under 20s star, and were said to have held talks with him last weekend.

However, Akpom has now moved to the City Ground until May 31.

The news comes as a blow for Norwich who are looking for extra firepower to cover for the loss of injured forward Lewis Grabban ahead of tonight's 5pm loan deadline.

Luton Town midfielder Luke Rooney has left the club, after both parties agreed to cancel his contract.

The 24-year-old featured prominently at the start of this season, but has seen his chances limited recently after struggling to recover from a hernia operation.

"Luke hasn’t featured so much recently after coming back to fitness following a hernia operation, so with that in mind we came to a decision to allow him to pursue a club elsewhere.

Luke did a good job for us, especially early in the season, which helped us pick up form on our return to the Football League – and for that we are grateful. I wish him all the best of luck.”
