ITV Fixers: Norfolk teenager says people with disabilities should be treated like anyone else

A Norfolk teenager is making an appeal on behalf of people with learning disabilities to be treated just like everyone else.

Joseph Jackson, who's 19 and from Loddon, says he has the same feelings as anyone else and hopes that by sharing his experiences, he can make a change for all people with disabilities.

He’s enlisted the help of Fixers – the campaign that gives young people a voice – to make his point.

"Just because I have a disability doesn't mean I don't have feelings like everyone else.

I want to Fix the way people treat me and others with disabilities. I want them to treat us as they would anyone else."

Norfolk woman encourages young people to join organised groups to combat isolation

Figures show that membership of the scouts is on the up.

Now a young woman from Stalham in Norfolk is encouraging youngsters to join organised groups as an antidote to social isolation and bullying at school.

An up and coming rapper from Norwich is using his gift for music to help other young people get through difficult times.

That includes an Afghanistan veteran suffering post-traumatic stress disorder.

As young people across our region contemplate returning to school after the Easter Break, a young woman from Basildon is urging them to listen to their hearts when choosing their future studies. Fixers: Spreading the anti-smoking message

Fixers gives young people a voice.

A Suffolk teenager has launched a campaign aimed at stopping young people taking up smoking.

Toby Jeffrey, who is 16 and from Bury St Edmunds, was appalled to find there were more than 4,000 chemicals in a cigarette - including rat poison.

Nearly 20,000 children in our region will take up smoking this year, according to anti-smoking campaigners.

Toby has enlisted the help of Fixers - the campaign that gives young people a voice - to reach children with a tough message.

It's the inspiring story from a young man from Peterborough who's fighting his cancer with the help of some super-heroes.

He believes that staying strong can help you battle the disease and he's using comic book heroes to help him prove it.

Fixers: Living with Dyspraxia

You may have never heard of it, but the chances are you know someone who has it.

Dyspraxia is a condition that makes daily tasks more difficult and it affects as many as one in ten people, including stars like actor Daniel Radcliffe and singer Florence Welch.

Yet it remains relatively unknown.

In the latest update from Fixers, the campaign that gives young people a voice, a Cambridge man is trying to open eyes to the condition, as well as provide local support.
