Five people arrested on suspicion of murder and four people arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender over the stabbing of a teenager in Essex have had their bail extended.
Jay Whiston, was stabbed at a house party in Colchester on September 8. The nine arrested over the death have been bailed until the 19th December.

Mourners have been remembering the life of Jay Whiston, 17, who died in Colchester earlier this month.

Funeral of murdered teen takes place
The funeral of murdered teenager Jay Whiston is taking place in Essex today.
The cortège left Jay's mother's house in Aster Close in Clacton at 9.30am on its way to Weeley Crematorium.
The flowers next to his coffin said angel and my son.
His coffin was painted to resemble the Cookie Monster from the TV Show Sesame Street. Jay had a tattoo of the character. After his death more than 60 of his friends and family had the same tattoo as a tribute.

Vigil for murdered teen
Nearly 500 people gathered in Frinton in Essex this evening to hold a vigil for 17-year-old Jay Whiston who was murdered in Colchester on Saturday evening. Jay had been at a house party in Marlow Way and was found stabbed in the heart.
Tonight his friends and family lit lanterns in his memory. They said they wanted to light up the sky for the popular teenager. Hundreds of lanterns floated out to sea watched by Jay's weeping family.
Campaigner: Knives are not about protection
Ann Oakes-Odger's son Westley was stabbed to death in Colchester in 2005, and she now campaigns against knife crime.
She says young people need to be educated on the consequences of getting involved in crime and how they deal with conflict.
