Police probe 'suspicious' death after body of man found in Ipswich

A police investigation is under way after the body of a man was found.

Officers were called to an address in Hawthorn Drive in Ipswich, near the junction with Marigold Avenue, shortly before 6pm on New Year's Day.

A man in his 60s was found dead and his family have been notified.

Police said inquiries were at an early stage, but the death was currently unexplained and being treated as suspicious.

A Home Office post-mortem examination is expected to take place in due course and police have sealed off the area while they investigate.

Officers are appealing for anybody with information or who saw any suspicious activity near the address between Christmas Eve and New Year to contact police quoting reference 37/162/25 via a dedicated site.
