One woman seriously injured and six others hurt in crash on the A47 in Cambridgeshire

A busy A-road near the border of two counties has reopened, seven hours after a 'serious' crash which left a man in hospital and six others injured.

The A47 in Cambridgeshire between the A141 at Guyhirn and the B198 at Wisbech was closed between Wisbech and Guyhirn around 6 am on Sunday, December 29.

According to the National Highways, police, fire crews and the air ambulance were all called to attend the crash.

One man has been seriously injured and been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn.

Six others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

An investigation into the cause is now underway.
