Serving Bedfordshire Police officer charged with child abduction and sex offences
A serving police officer has appeared in court charged with child abduction and arranging the sexual exploitation of a child.
PC Elliot Wright, 29, a roads policing officer for Bedfordshire Police who has now been suspended, appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
He was arrested in Bedfordshire on Thursday night following reports of concern for a teenage girl.
The girl has been subsequently safeguarded.
Wright is also charged with misconduct in public office.
He was remanded into custody until his next hearing at St Albans Crown Court on 23 April.
The matter has been passed to another force for independent investigation and referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
