A popular swimming event held in Suffolk that was due to take place on Saturday 12th June has been postponed due to a toxic algae being found in the water.

Organisers of the The John West Great East Swim tested Alton Water, near Ipswich, where they found blue-green algae, which if ingested can be toxic.

Swimmers who've entered the event will be enrolled to a new date when it's been set.
