Sporting groups including Silverstone call for vaccine passorts
Bosses at Silverstone race circuit have joined other sporting groups calling for so called Vaccine Passports so they can operate at full capacity.
They've written to all polictical parties asked for support for the idea of fans being able to show they've been vaccinated or have a negative test.
However they say it must not be discriminatory.
They're calling for action now so they can plan for full capacity events this summer. They say fans will only return if they know it's safe.
The letter admits there are many issues to be addressed including how the technology would work and its ease of use at major events, for both the attendees and the organisers.
However the group goes on to say they can all see the benefit that a Covid certification process offers in getting more fans safely back to their sport as quickly as possible.
