Meet our Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser 2020 finalists - Ali Neely-Hayes

During the many hospital appointments Ali Neely-Hayes attended with her little boy Finnley, she was struck by how many families were suffering just like hers.

Finn had been diagnosed with Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma, a form of cancer, and began chemotherapy at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridgeshire.

He's now in remission - but the memory of the many families who were not so lucky never left Ali.

Ali and her wife Donna, who live in Bedfordshire, decided to set themselves a challenge. They created Finnley's Warriors and aimed to raise £10,000 for the charity Children with Cancer UK.

Having inspired friends, family and complete strangers to dig deep and set their own goals, Finnley's Warriors has now raised around £200,000 - and earned Ali a nomination for the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser of the Year award for Anglia West.

The treatment Finn had to undergo was intensive and gruelling for his little body.

His parents hope the money Finnley's Warriors has raised will fund research into childhood cancers like Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma and find a less painful cure for the many families that are yet to experience what they have.
