An RNLI lifeboat has towed a pleasure boat with two people on board back to port after it got into difficulties off the north Norfolk coast.

Wells lifeboat was called out to help the 32-foot pleasure craft which lost steering off Scolt Head Island and was in danger of running aground.

It towed the vessel back to the safety of Wells-Next-The-Sea harbour against a strongly ebbing tide.

The RNLI lifeboat was launched with its volunteer crew around 11am on Friday morning, less than 15 minutes after the emergency callout from Humber Coastguard.

The pleasure board was secured in harbour by 12.45 pm.
