Rising popularity of vegetarian food bringing 80 new jobs to Norfolk

A rise in popularity of vegetarian food is bringing 80 new jobs to Norfolk. The Linda McCartney factory in Fakenham - which was expanded in 2012 - is now moving to 24/7 production and bringing in new equipment to keep up with demand. Nadine Maggi, managing director at Hain Daniels, that own the company said: “The additional shifts and the investment in highly innovative equipment at our Fakenham plant will allow us to continue push the boundaries of what is possible when it comes to meat free options and will mean we can cater for an increasing consumer demand for meat free products.”

“We’ve seen strong year on year growth in meat free products and this will provide us with a launch pad to drive further sales in the category and build on the wealth of knowledge and experience that already resides on the site.”

Joe O’Hara, Site General Manager, added: "We’re all very excited about the plans to create new jobs in the local community. This new equipment will allow us to innovate and grow our business so we can continue to delight our customers with food that tastes great and is made with care and compassion. We have a number of roles available we are recruiting for Production Team Leaders, Quality Auditors, Trainers, Production and Warehouse Operatives. We have a track record of developing our colleagues a number of members of the management team started working on the factory floor. ”
