Following in the footsteps of Captain Sir Tom Moore, a man from Cambridgeshire is staging a charity walk to help the NHS.

But for Mark Stocks, his walk is to say thank you to the teams of doctors and nurses who helped save his life after he fell ill with Covid-19.

Mark's family was told he had a 50/50 chance of survival when he was in intensive care at Hinchingbrooke Hospital in Huntingdon.

Now out of hospital, his recovery is still ongoing. The illness caused him to suffer pneumonia in one lung and his other lung collapsed - Just taking a few steps leaves him out of breath.

But later this month Mark wants to complete a five mile walk from St Ives in Cambridgeshire to Hinchingbrooke Hospital to raise money for the NHS and say thanks for the care he received.

Mark says he also hopes the walk will act as tribute to families who weren't so lucky.
