Cambridgeshire primary school destroyed by fire

A primary school in Cambridgeshire was destroyed after by fire last night (July 31). Duxford CofE Community Primary School in St John's Street, Duxford was watched by tearful teachers as it was ravaged by flames.

Cambridge Fire and Rescue service said they were called at 8.26pm.

Around 50 firefighters from across Suffolk, Essex, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire attended the fire that took almost an hour to extinguish.

They stayed at the scene all night make sure that the fire was fully out. A spokesperson from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said:

An investigation has opened to determine the cause.
